Not Long Now...Stranded Bandits Korea Tour 2011!

Straight out of San Francisco The Stranded Bandits, a 3-piece country punk band, are breezing into Korea for a 2011 tour across the Land of the Morning Calm. Come and check them out with Sticky Fingers at Woodstock in Itaewon on Thursday March 24 and Pub 210 in Bundang on Friday March 25.

"The Stranded Bandits found each other in the spring of 2010 and were stranded no longer. In the city of brotherly love, they rocked, rolled, and rejuvenated souls. But alas, it was not meant to last as lasses and classes left them stranded once more. One flew to LA, one flew to Seoul. One stayed in SF but apart, none were whole. Band together again, the three bandits shall. And on this land or the next, their sound will be heard once more."

New Kid Carpet Release: 'Repo Chick'

"The Fisher-Price Future of Dance" — The NME

Kid Carpet is one of the most powerful forces in the comtemporary U.K. music scene. Based out of his home town of Bristol, Carpet has been blasting audiences with unique blend of electronic-punk-folk-shit-hop music since 2003. Bored with the seriousness and pretension of contemporary indie-pop bands, Carpet quickly found audiences as he began making music with plastic toys, samples initially and playfully energetic performances.

Quickly becoming a festival regular and a popular tour support, Carpet has played with the likes of  Arcade Fire, Art Brut, Dan Le Sac & Scroobius Pip, Badly Drawn Boy and Go! Team.

His first album, Ideas On Oh Dears, came out in 2005 and birthed the singles Your Love, Shiny Shiny New and Carrier Bag. The follow-up, Casio Royale, came out in 2008 on Rob Da Bank's Sunday Best label.

Repo Chick is Carpet's brand new album ,which also forms the soundtrack to Repo Chick, a forthcoming film by American director Alex Cox and the sequel to his 80’s classic Repo ManThe album will debut on April 18th on dan le sac's new record label Dumb Drum.

The Single 'Shuffle' will be out March 14th with remixes by dan le sac, 1bpm (aka David Thorpe of Pete & The Pirates) and Voluntary Butler Scheme.

Artists and performers featured in the video include the Space Rhyme Continuum, Danielle  Arsenault, Eric Scott Nelson, Anna HP Sauz, the Hongdae Street Jazz Band, as well as assorted attendees of the event.

If that wasn't enough check out aweh.tv for an exclusive interview with one of DRIPAN's organizers.

THANK YOU

The DRIPAN art walk was a roller-coaster of liminal awesomeness, everything we wanted and more.
There were words, motions, paint splashes and splotches, ears, eyes, hands, brains engaging and of course feet walking the art walk.

The response and support was overwhelming and we'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. All the artists, performers, business owners, supporters and audience members contributed to an incredible night of energy.

Stayed tuned, work is still on walls and still on sale. We're going to rearrange a few things are updates will continue to come. More events are in the pipeline, watching this space and bounce over any ideas you have.

In the meantime feast your eyes on some evidence of the first few zones and Eric Scott Nelson's performance!!!(Courtesy of The View From Over Here)
