New Kid Carpet Release: 'Repo Chick'

"The Fisher-Price Future of Dance" — The NME

Kid Carpet is one of the most powerful forces in the comtemporary U.K. music scene. Based out of his home town of Bristol, Carpet has been blasting audiences with unique blend of electronic-punk-folk-shit-hop music since 2003. Bored with the seriousness and pretension of contemporary indie-pop bands, Carpet quickly found audiences as he began making music with plastic toys, samples initially and playfully energetic performances.

Quickly becoming a festival regular and a popular tour support, Carpet has played with the likes of  Arcade Fire, Art Brut, Dan Le Sac & Scroobius Pip, Badly Drawn Boy and Go! Team.

His first album, Ideas On Oh Dears, came out in 2005 and birthed the singles Your Love, Shiny Shiny New and Carrier Bag. The follow-up, Casio Royale, came out in 2008 on Rob Da Bank's Sunday Best label.

Repo Chick is Carpet's brand new album ,which also forms the soundtrack to Repo Chick, a forthcoming film by American director Alex Cox and the sequel to his 80’s classic Repo ManThe album will debut on April 18th on dan le sac's new record label Dumb Drum.

The Single 'Shuffle' will be out March 14th with remixes by dan le sac, 1bpm (aka David Thorpe of Pete & The Pirates) and Voluntary Butler Scheme.
